Nigel Irens is usually associated with the world’s best racing and record breaking sailing multihulls. His brand new design, the Glisse 40 LDL (Low Displacement/Length) is an exciting looking modern ‘weekend’ motor launch and would be an ideal Super yacht tender. The ‘Glisse 40’ is a radical departure in design terms and features a very efficient hull shape and light weight. This means good performance so with a 50 hp diesel it is expected that 13-14 knots can be achieved. The boat is designed to provide a smooth efficient and silent ride at anything between 0 and 20 knots. Its silent operation also makes it ideal for operation in environmentally sensitive locations. There is a large cockpit with table and seating over the engine. A fold-down stern door forms a swim platform. The cabin has 4 berths (2 v berths), shower and toilet compartment and galley with cook top. The appealing boat has a simple spec and the price reflects this.

Designed by Craig Loomes and built by Dickson Marine in Nelson, this versatile 8 m performance yacht features the very best in modern yachting. Built in fibreglass with a gel coat finish, she is fitted with a retractable bulb keel which gives complete flexibility to keep her on either a marina berth or fully transportable on a road trailer. The hull design possesses a great deal of form stability which coupled with the 46% ballast ratio makes for a very safe, stable family cruiser with strong upwind performance. She was designed with performance in mind but the large volume, wholesome hull also makes for ideal family cruising, allowing you to enjoy the best of both worlds. She features one double and two single berths in an open plan layout with separate toilet compartment. There is a large T shaped cockpit designed for easy sail handling and great space for entertaining. The full width walk through transom also provides excellent access to the water for swimming scuba diving and fishing. The retractable rudder and Yanmar outboard motor are transom hung.

Nigel Irens is usually associated with the world’s best racing and record breaking sailing multi hulls and his new design, the LT40 launch with its 3.5 t displacement, is the perfect boat for exploring along coasts, in and around sounds, rivers and estuaries silently and in comfort. It features a very efficient hull shape and light weight foam sandwich construction. This delivers a good performance with a speed of 13-14 knots from 50 HP. The boat has simple weekend style accommodation featuring a large cockpit for terrace living with a table and chairs or sun loungers. The cockpit can be protected by a canvas sun awning – or as weather protection in less sunny conditions. Rolling down side screens turns the whole cockpit into a massive extra cabin to accommodate as many grandchildren as you can muster. A transom gate allows the tender to be carried in the cockpit while at sea and the fold down gate also provides a swim platform. The LT 40 will provide a smooth, efficient and silent ride at speeds ranging between 0 and about 20 knots.
